Departure from Ponta Delgada and stop in a place to be announced for lunch – picnic. We will follow to the the South coast road, passing the beaches next to Ponta Delgada. On the way up to “Lagoa do Fogo”, we will take a mountain road between pastures, bushes and flowers. We will stop at the viewpoint of the Lagoa do Fogo (one of the most beautiful lagoons of São Miguel Island) and enjoy the magnificent sight of the volcanic crater with its great variety of endemic vegetation.

During the descent towards the North coast, we will stop at Ribeira Grande, a small city where some colorful and valuable masterpieces of baroque popular architecture can be observed.

We will also stop at the viewpoint of Santa Iria, which offers a wonderful view of the north coast of São Miguel Island.

The trip continues towards the tea plantations, with a visit to black and green tea factory. The teas are much appreciated for their flavor.

Then we will visit the viewpoint of Pico de Ferro, which offers a fantastic panorama of the valley of the Lagoa das Furnas. Then we will continue to the Caldeiras, a place known for the volcanic hot springs and medicinal mud.

Finally we will visit the Terra Nostra park, where we will be able to observe a vast botanical collection of deriving species, some of which can be traced back to the XVIII century.

After dinner, we return to Ponta Delgada, following the South coast road.

Farwell Party

The farewell party will take place at Quinta de Santana.

Quinta de Santana is located in the North coast of the island.

This place has a large outdoor area, which will give the visitors the opportunity to enjoy a time of relaxation and leisure.
